We are looking for a volunteer handyperson to undertake light duties, e.g. repairing a leaky tap, changing light bulbs, fixing a plug, performing basic DIY joinery, fitting door handles, replacing desk locks etc. This would be most helpful to the staff and would assist in keeping the SCIAF office fabric in a good and safe working order.
If you are interested in helping SCIAF by working at our office in Park Circus, Glasgow (near Charing Cross) for around 4 hours a fortnight during office hours then please contact Peter McMillan (SCIAF’s Volunteer Coordinator). You would be assisting SCIAF in a very valuable and practical way.
For more information about this opportunity log on to www.sciaf.org.uk or contact Peter McMillan on 0141 354 5555, pmcmillan@sciaf.org.uk. We would love to hear from you.
SCIAF is the largest Scottish international aid agency. From our headquarters in Glasgow we support over 100 projects in more than 20 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
SCIAF is also the official aid and development agency of the Catholic Church in Scotland. We were founded in 1965 to address the huge gulf between rich and poor in the world. We believe that all people have the right to live in dignity, hold their own beliefs, and share in the world’s resources. We help people of all religious backgrounds and none, and are supported by Scots of many different faiths and none.
“From small beginnings in 1965 in a small school classroom in Rutherglen, with funds of just £8,000, SCIAF has grown into Scotland’s leading international aid agency.”
Prime Minister Gordon Brown, speaking on SCIAF’s 40th anniversary
