To help get SCIAF’s message across to as many people as possible, especially during Lent which is the time of year when SCIAF enters into the life of every parish in Scotland in a special way. Having a nominated parish contact means that more people can hear about how their support for SCIAF makes a difference for some of the world’s poorest people. Sometimes the parish priest prefers to do this himself, but he has a lot of demands on his time and we find many parish priests appreciate someone else taking on the task, or at least being ready to help out.
All kinds of people! The important skills are
Parish contacts talk with local parishioners tell them about SCIAF’s activities and encourage them to continue their good work in supporting SCIAF help the poorest of the poor. We hope that as a parish contact you will feel a real sense of enjoyment in being part of the SCIAF volunteer team helping SCIAF to create a just world for all. SCIAF is able to provide all parish contacts with information and support.
