Answering God’s call

Jesus, Lord of life,
in your rage against injustice,
you turned the tables
in the Temple.
Inspire us with the fire
of your spirit
to answer your call.

Jesus, Son of God,
in your search for the truth,
you opened the eyes
of those who would not see.
Open our eyes
to the world we dare not face,
and break through our complacency
with the stories we are afraid to hear.

Call us out, Christ Jesus,
from the tomb of our resistance.
Break the bonds of our denial,
and, with your gentle insistence,
show us the ways
to answer your call.
