Prayer Resources

These prayers for Lent were written by three priests from Scotland – Fr John Eagers, Fr William McFadden, and Fr Joseph Sullivan.

They travelled to Ethiopia in September 2007 to visit projects supported by SCIAF, and to celebrate the millennium with the church in Ethiopia. It was celebrated in 2007 because Ethiopia uses the ancient Coptic calendar, which is around seven years behind the more widely used Gregorian calendar.

The prayers have a particular Ethiopian influence, reflecting the experience of the priests, the communities in which they lived, and SCIAF’s commitment to the people of Ethiopia.
