Alistair joined SCIAF after five years as Humanitarian Director for Caritas Internationalis, and more recently as interim Director of The Sphere Project, which sets standards for humanitarian aid delivery. A chartered engineer, Alistair studied physics at the University of Durham, and philosophy, politics and economics at the University of Oxford. Alistair has worked in the international relief and development sector for eighteen years, during which time he has led several major humanitarian responses and worked in over thirty countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Alistair entered the sector when, as a Jesuit novice working for the Jesuit Refugee Service, he was seconded to Caritas Nepal.
Head of International Programmes
With responsibility for our long term development programmes, emergency relief projects, and accountability to overseas partners.
Lorraine has been the Head of International Programmes at SCIAF since May 2010. Prior to her current position, Lorraine worked for over 20 years in the field of International Development in Africa and the Middle East with the UNHCR, International NGOs and grass-roots faith based organisation, and was responsible for designing and managing emergency, good governance, livelihoods, HIV and AIDS, education and health programmes for refugees and poor and marginalised groups.
Head of Communications and Education
With responsibility for communications and campaigns, fundraising, education, supporter care, volunteer engagement and church outreach.
Charlotte joined SCIAF as Head of Communications and Education in November 2015. Mixing charity leadership and media she has worked in a number of leadership roles, as Chief Executive of Shakespeare Schools Festival and as General Secretary of leading UK INGO coalition BOND. Previous roles also include VSO Country Director for Malawi and Country Director for BBC Media Action in Bangladesh. Charlotte has served on the Board of PLAN UK for the last 8 years and recently joined the board of Medical Aid Films.
