Returning WEE BOXES

Lent is now over which means the end of SCIAF’s WEE BOX, BIG Change campaign.

Thank you to all of you who have made WEE changes this Lent and well done for all your hard work! Whatever you have given up this Lent, your small sacrifices really will help make a big difference to the people who need it most.

You can return your WEE BOX to us at SCIAF, 19 Park Circus, Glasgow, G3 6BE.

Alternatively click here to donate online or call us on 0141 354 5555.

Lent may be over but SCIAF will continue to help some of the world's poorest people to work their way out of poverty. To read examples of the people whose lives we couldn't have helped without your support, click here.

A journey of hope

Jenneth is just one of the thousands of people who have been helped by your donations. At 14 she was kidnapped from her home in northern Uganda and forced to become a child soldier, innocently caught up in a conflict she only ever wished to escape. For five years Jenneth survived the savage regime of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) living in fear of her life constantly. At 21 Jenneth was able to flee the bush and start a new life.

Rescued by a priest who had bravely entered LRA territory, Jenneth was taken to a centre for practical skills training, funded by SCIAF. Along with other girls who had been abducted, she was given the chance to learn how to support herself and provide for her two children. Robbed of a proper education she chose to take a three year course in tailoring. She was provided with a refuge and the chance to reintegrate into her community after years of living in the wilderness.

Jenneth now looks forward to a brighter future for herself, Wulter and Gurfre, her young boys.
On behalf of Jenneth and all the men, women and children you have helped to support, thank you!#
