This morning I interviewed Jamal Abdullah, Director of TALO, with the help of my translator, Yami, as Jamal does not speak English.
In the afternoon, Darmansyah and Yami took me to Lam Kunyet village which is 15km from Banda Aceh. We went to a local government primary school where 50 ‘anak’ (children) and their teachers, Yusfarli and Irma Hasanah, were waiting for us. It was a unique experience as children were laughing and jostling to greet me. They performed three traditional dances.
