Rwanda: The Land of a Thousand Hills
Percy Patrick reports from the heart of Rwanda about poverty and hunger in the Great Lakes region and the challenge of building a lasting peace in a country that just 15 years ago was torn apart by a brutal genocide.
My aeroplane has landed in Rwanda’s geographical heart, the rapidly growing capital city of Kigali which is blessed with a moderate, high altitude climate that belies its tropical location. My field visit started with a challenge when I found that my luggage had not arrived with me.
