The film is director Lisa Jackson’s powerful testimony to the tragedy and bravery of women whose stories have, until now, gone largely untold. The documentary won the Sundance Film Festival 2007 Special Jury Prize for Documentary.
The film will be introduced by a short video shot by SCIAF in the South Kivu region of the DRC. SCIAF and its local partners work on a daily basis in DRC to support survivors of rape and sexual violence. The premiere will be followed by a discussion with the audience and a pannel of experts including SCIAF Policy Analyst, Abi Dymond, Chief Reporter at The Herald, Lucy Adams, who has just returned from a trip with SCIAF to the region, and Linda Fabiani MSP, the Scottish Government's minister with reponsability for international development.
You will be able to take direct action by signing campaign postcards at the film showing or emailing the Secretary of State for International Development from the SCIAF website after the launch.
Please come along and support this event. You can help make a difference!
