New Range of Real Gifts

Soun from Cambodia used to scrape together a living by selling rubbish. Now, thanks to the Real Gift of Junkyard Jewellery, she makes beautiful bracelets from scraps of paper.

She said:

“Collecting rubbish was dangerous work – I was lucky to make $1 a day. Now I make three times that much and I work at home where it is safe. I use the extra money to feed my children and buy clothes.”

We’ve all wasted money buying people presents which they don’t really need. That’s why SCIAF has launched a new range of life-changing, poverty-fighting Real Gifts that help poor communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

There are loads of gifts to choose from, like Sheep, Training for farmers and Junkyard Jewellery, helping women like Soun to make bags, hats and beads from waste paper and plastic.

When you buy a Real Gift, the money you spend goes directly to a SCIAF project which provides your chosen gift as part of its work.

Real Gifts are great for any occasion from birthdays, christenings and anniversaries to weddings and first holy communions. Each one comes with a beautiful card and fridge magnet to remind you of the difference your gift is making.
