Three Cheers for SCIAF Volunteers

We held a special lunch to show our volunteers how much we appreciate them (Photo: SCIAF)

It’s Volunteers' Week (1st-7th June) and we’d like to thank all the amazing people who give up their time to help out at SCIAF.

Our volunteers are very special people. So much of the work we do depends on their skills and generosity.

Thanks to them, we save huge amounts of time and money – which means we can give even more of it to the people who need it most.

Volunteers help SCIAF in many different ways - including:

  • Visiting schools and parishes across Scotland to talk about SCIAF’s work
  • Opening mail, answering phones, and counting donations
  • Cataloguing photos and stories, proof reading, and carrying out research
  • Composing music for SCIAF Lent reflections, writing prayer materials, doing voice-overs for video clips, and editing film footage we bring back from the field to make the wonderful films for our WEE BOX campaign.

SCIAF volunteers help us reach out to millions of people every year. Without them, our work would not be possible.

We are always looking for volunteers. If you would like to find out more about volunteering for SCIAF, call Kirsteen McDonald on 0141 354 5555 or email kmcdonald@sciaf.org.uk .
