We head back to Zambia for our SCIAF Photo Friday gallery to check out a fantastic project
The Kasisi Agricultural Training College (KATC) is a SCIAF partner organisation in the Chongwe district of Zambia, near the capital city of Lusaka. The project represents people with the opportunity to counter the impacts of climate change.
By providing training in sustainable and organic agriculture, KATC helps farmers learn skills and techniques to improve their yields in the face of drought and increasingly unpredictable weather patterns caused by climate change.
In a country where, in some regions, 97% of the population depends on agriculture to survive, the training college helps ensure that people can grow enough food to eat, and have surplus to sell in order to pay school fees or buy medicines
