Frames Project (Photo: Pajoma)
The programme runs from Saturday 13th August until Sunday 21st August with plenty of diversity. There is something for everybody to enjoy and celebrate. The events will be held at St Mary's Cathedral Hall.
In addition to the exhibition, featuring the works of Rosemary Bassett and John Cannavan amongst others, there are a host of other exciting events from Pamoja Art.
The Frames project looks like a nice way for people to really interact with art and could be particularly encouraging for young people. An engaging way to involve everybody who comes along.
Conversations provides the opportunity for people to hear from a range of public figures on topics such as Justice and Nationalism in a Global Village and A Global Village: Is the World Too Big?
With intermedia playing a role and the nightly musical performances in the Cabaret - there is plenty of culture to be soaked up in this fantastic programme. Why not head along and join the fun?
Pamoja Art told us:
"This venture and venue seeks to creatively reflect on life in our global village with an eye to the past, a view to the future and within an experience of the present moment.
There will be a particular focus on life in Scotland and in Tanzania viewed from the twin peaks of two extinct volcanoes – Arthur’s Seat and Mount Kilimanjaro. In addition to the Exhibition that will be open from 10.00am to 6.00pm each day there will be an Open Conversation at 6.00pm, Common Ground at 7.30pm and a Cabaret at 9.00pm.
There are questions to ask, a future to dream of and hearts to change. There is much to face and much to celebrate - and prophetic voices within us and around us that must be paid attention to. To begin with we look to the creativity active and alive in all of us …. without exception."
