Submission on Public Procurement

At the launch of their joint bid to become Fair Trade Nations, the First Ministers of Scotland and Wales emphasised their commitment to fair trade as a means of lifting millions out of poverty. Jack McConnell (who was First Minister at the time) was quoted as saying “…our commitment to fair trade is at the centre of our national effort to make poverty history”.

SCIAF, as part of the Trade Justice Movement Scotland, and with CORE Scotland submitted the following proposal to the Scottish Executive detailing how it could turn its words into reality by ensuring its commitment to fair trade is evident across all of its activities and undertakings.
