The Loka Women’s Association promotes gender equality and empowers the women of Loka in Southern Sudan. Like many who stayed during the civil war, the women of Loka missed out on education and training, leaving the region with a female literacy rate of under 5% - one of the lowest in the world.

This project, through promoting literacy, numeracy and income generating skills, aims to give the women of Loka the opportunity to gain the confidence they need to begin to participate in the re-building of Loka and their communities.
