Archdiocese of Arusha Health Department

The Archdiocese of Arusha Health Department’s HIV/AIDS programme has received funding from SCIAF since 2001. The overall Archdiocesan AIDS programme, known as UHAI provides information, education, voluntary counselling and testing, palliative treatment, home-based care and orphan support for people living with HIV/AIDS. The Archdiocese Health Department also receives SCIAF funding to support the development of a poultry and goat rearing project in order to bolster families’ incomes and food supply. This helps provide essential food supplements to the poorest recipients of anti-retroviral drugs.
