Projects in Uganda

SCIAF has been supporting partners in Uganda since 1981 and works with partners at grass roots level to promote food security, HIV/AIDS reduction, peace and justice, and sustainable livelihoods. At present, SCIAF is working with ten partners in the country and has supplied grants totaling nearly £454,000 in 2006/07.

A community radio which broadcasts for peace in the aftermath of a 21-year civil war.

Archdiocese of Gulu J&P Commission

Promotes peace building initiatives through its parishes and communities in northern Uganda.

Organises workshops in counselling and the treatment of alcoholism and substance abuse.

Kitovu Health Care Complex

Provides healthcare services focusing on home/hygiene promotion and HIV/AIDS prevention.

AWOFS

Targets families and orphans in Kampala living with HIV/AIDS to provide a range of support.

Mill Hill Fathers

Educates children, women and young pastoralists in rural areas on HIV/AIDS prevention.

Kamwokya CCC

Delivers a wide range of programmes to help communities severely affected by HIV/AIDS.
