CIDSE Laos is working to improve the quality of life in 15 villages in southern Laos. There is a shortage of clean water in the villages and food sources are unreliable due to poor soil quality. The organisation trains village leaders and assists the communities in creating their own development plans so that they can improve food availability, access to healthcare, school attendance and teaching quality, together with the management of local resources.
