SEM

The Spirit in Education Movement (SEM) helps to manage a project to encourage development in Laos in conjunction with local groups. The programme is designed to utilise local culture and wisdom, and traditional Buddhist values while remaining inclusive of all religious and ethnic groups. SEM provides leadership training in holistic and community development for people who will then go out and establish projects throughout Laos, thus helping to establish civil society groups with a strong understanding of development. The programme will support long term development work by providing a project fund to assist graduates in setting up 10 small-scale sustainable community projects each year, to help alleviate poverty.
