Drought and water shortages are a problem faced by the Santa Rosa de Lima area. Added to this is the prevalence of unemployment, poor public health support, and a lack of formal education and training initiatives.
SCIAF works with St Rosa de Lima Parish and has helped to build water reservoirs and a communal tank for 14 families. The parish’s development programme promotes food security and health in a town and 23 rural communities.
The programme includes workshops on baking and nutrition, training on organic agriculture, and support and training for housing teams to build dignified and secure housing.
