The Crisis We Face
Khoeu No is a farmer in Cambodia and a SCIAF project participant. The changing weather has had a significant impact on his ability to grow food, feed his family and earn a living.
“There are many challenges. Right now, it is time to plant rice - but there is no rain. The only time we seem to get water is during storms. And it appears to be getting hotter too.
“I’ve seen in the dry season, the water in the river is shallow but now there is much more water in the river.
“I have a great concern that the weather will continue to affect our rice farming. I would then have no other option than to go fishing. I see there’s a decline in fishing generally but I can get more at this time as the water is high. It’s hard to predict what the water will do. "
