Add your voice to our Climate Chorus

Today we’re launching our Climate Chorus. Voices from all over the world tell us why the climate crisis is significant to them, and encourage us to do our part to protect our Common Home.

In just a few months, the eyes of the whole world will be on Glasgow as the city plays host to COP26, the UN climate change conference. The event will take place between 1st – 12th November and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest and most important international summits ever held to tackle climate change.

The UK, as the President of COP26, has the greatest influence on the outcome of the conference and on the ambitions that are agreed upon. By mobilising our faith communities here in Scotland and lifting up the voices of our partners around the world, we can put pressure on our politicians to deliver real action on climate justice at COP26.

People who live in the world’s poorest countries are most affected by the climate crisis but are often ignored by politicians when discussing solutions. At SCIAF, we are dedicated to listening to those on the frontline of the climate crisis, and we are urging the Prime Minister and the UK Government to do the same.

That’s why we’ve launched our Climate Chorus. Voices from all over the world tell us why the climate crisis is significant to them, and encourage us to do our part to protect our Common Home.

Participants in our programmes tell us that the climate is changing before their eyes. Our partners in Africa, Latin America and Asia call out the injustice of a climate crisis they did not cause. Our volunteers demand a just and green world. Our staff speak out as they fear what the future might hold. And our Church Leaders teach us that by destroying the earth, we destroy ourselves.

Together, they tell the story that we are in grave danger. But with faith, love and courage we can heal our Common Home.

Additionally, you can add your voice to our petition and demand that the Prime Minister listens to those on the frontline of the crisis.
