Dominican Republic

What we do:
  • Emergency Response

Hurricanes Irma and Maria left a wake of devastation in the Dominican Republic. Roads, bridges and homes were damaged or destroyed. More than 20,000 families were forced to evacuate. Uncollected household waste, lack of sanitation and water stagnation left many exposed to cholera and acute diarrhoea. SCIAF is helping over 5,000 families who are affected by the floods in the north of the country by providing food, shelter, and clean water as they rebuild their lives.
