The Most Reverend William Nolan is the Archbishop of Glasgow. He studied at the Pontifical Scots College, Rome before being ordained 1977. A priest of the diocese of Motherwell he returned to Rome in 1983 to serve as Vice-Rector of the Scots College, a post he held until 1990 when he returned to Scotland to serve in parish ministry. He was Bishop of Galloway from 2014 until 2022. On 4th February 2022, he was appointed Archbishop of Glasgow by Pope Francis. He is also president of Scottish Bishops' Conference Commission for Justice and Peace.
