The Holy Cross High School under-13s team had a great debut game in their new SCIAF-sponsored shirts – and managed to raise £273 for the humanitarian charity too.

Their 5-2 victory against an excellent Trinity High School side was a competitive and spirited fixture, with charity at its heart.

The team along with staff, pupils, and spectators came together in the true spirit of Advent to support SCIAF.

This was the team’s first home match in their new SCIAF-sponsored strips, funded by a very generous donor.

Michael Hamilton from SCIAF said:

“It was a great game played between the schools and a fantastic atmosphere created by some lively students singing throughout! Thanks to Holy Cross and Trinity High for inspiring us by supporting SCIAF and for all the efforts to fundraise at the game. This will make a vital difference to SCIAF’s work helping families living in poverty around the world.”

U13s coach and teacher, Mr M. Seenan added:

“The Under 13s match was far more than a game of football — it was a powerful display of our two schools uniting in faith and compassion.

“By coming together to raise funds for SCIAF, a charity close to both our communities, our staff, pupils and their families added their voices to SCIAF’s mission to bring hope and support to families across the world. We are also sincerely grateful to the donor who has given us another opportunity to support this important charity.”
