On 24 June, two earthquakes struck Caracas in Venezuela, causing mass devastation. Sadly, over a thousand people lost their lives, with more severely injured.

“I wish to express my gratitude and encouragement to those generously working on search and rescue efforts and providing assistance.”

- Pope Leo XIV

We would echo Pope Leo’s sentiments of gratitude for the emergency relief that is being provided to our sisters and brothers through our Caritas family. Our partners have been responding on the ground, providing immediate relief to those most in need, and will continue to support them in the weeks and months ahead as they look to rebuild their lives.

Many of our sisters and brothers in Venezuela were already struggling to meet basic needs and services, and now your support is needed more than ever beyond the vital search and rescue operations underway as an immediate response.

Our Venezuela Earthquake Appeal enables us to support our partners through the Caritas network as they continue to provide food, water and other essentials to those most affected, offering a promise of hope and solidarity that those affected are not forsaken.
