If you’re signed up for DSAS we have resources and ideas that can help combine your learning on global issues with your digital skills.

All of us are responsible for the communications we make, for the information we share…all of us are to be witnesses of the truth: to go, to see and to share. #WorldCommunicationsDay

- Pope Francis (@Pontifex on Twitter)

Get started

  • Download our Digital Schools pack with our logo, photos, and social media banners.
  • Research SCIAF’s work by visiting our website and get in touch via schools@sciaf.org.uk
  • Share what you create and engage with us digitally via our social media channels. You can find us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Ideas

  • Create a presentation about SCIAF’s work using Keynote on your iPad, or another presentation-creation app.
  • This Lent, use your iPads to create information books about SCIAF’s WEE BOX campaign and share with the rest of the school. Apps like Book Creator are great! Or, create a video, using Clips on the iPad, with images from this year’s WEE BOX appeal.
  • Make a Podcast all about SCIAF, using an app like GarageBand. Invite a volunteer from SCIAF in for an interview or work in pairs and someone takes on the role of SCIAF in the interview.
  • Create a SCIAF page on your school website to tell everyone about SCIAF’s work and if you choose to fundraise, you can promote it here too.

Resources

  • Download our Digital Schools pack below with our logos and social media banners to add to your presentations and information books.
  • Film your own natural disaster news report. Take on the role of reporters, scriptwriters, witnesses and first responders. Use the case studies in our Emergency Response Resource as your research.

How we can help

Get in touch to find out how your school can ‘Takeover’ our social media channels for the day. Tell us your ideas for the takeover…

  • Maybe a themed day all about your Laudato Si School journey? Or a behind the scenes look at your Mini Vinnies/Pope Francis Faith Award groups?
  • What kind of media can you share – photos, YouTube videos, Boomerangs?
  • Who will write your posts – teachers, pupils, parents?
  • What hashtags will you use to promote the takeover?
  • What other elements will you use on our channels – polls, quizzes, stickers?

We will work with a small group of your digital champions to help them bring their ideas to life on Takeover Day.
