SCIAF's Anniversary Hymn: Because

Internationally acclaimed hymnwriter, Rev John Bell, has written SCIAF a new hymn to celebrate our 60^thAnniversary!

‘Because’ draws inspiration from Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ and was finished the day after the Holy Father passed.

Canon Michael Hutson, Parish Priest at St Mary's Benbecula, SCIAF Board Member, said:

"John’s generosity in writing this hymn is a blessing for us all. His words place on our lips the St Francis-inspired praise of God for creation. I hope the hymn will soon be sung throughout Scotland and beyond.” 

Excitingly, SCIAF has enlisted the help of Catholic pop sensation Michelle McManus to record a live version of the hymn this summer – watch this space for a video coming soon!
