The Right Reverend William Nolan is the Bishop of Galloway. He studied at the Pontifical Scots College, Rome before being ordained 1977. A priest of the diocese of Motherwell he returned to Rome in 1983 to serve as Vice-Rector of the Scots College, a post he held until 1990 when he returned to Scotland to serve in parish ministry. On 22 November 2014 he was appointed Bishop of Galloway by Pope Francis. He is also president of Scottish Bishops' Conference Commission for Justice and Peace.
