Remembering SCIAF in your final wishes is a wonderful gesture of love and a way to honour your lifelong values and solidarity with those who are in need beyond your lifetime.
Future generations could benefit from a gift in your Will, making a better world possible for some of the poorest, most vulnerable people. Through practical support like tools, seeds and training you’ll enable people to work their way out of poverty, with your thoughtful blessing bringing comfort, support and vital aid to those in great need.
Leaving a gift in your Will and making financial arrangements for after your passing is very simple to do. You will need a note of our registered address and charity number to take along to a solicitor:
Registered address: SCIAF, 196 Clyde Street, Glasgow, G1 4JY
Charity No: SC012302
Your legal advisor will talk you through the options of leaving a set amount (a pecuniary gift) or a percentage of your estate (a residual gift). It is entirely up to you to decide after, of course, you have taken care of your loved ones. You can also leave a specific item to SCIAF if you wish.
Will Aid
SCIAF is a partner of Will Aid. Each November participating solicitors waive their Will writing fee for a donation to Will Aid. SCIAF is one of the charities which benefits from Will Aid donations.
When the time is right for you to remember a charity in your Will, please consider a gift to SCIAF so your faith in a fairer world can live on.

Christine and Frank’s story
“We’ve told our family we’re leaving some money for them – but some for our family overseas too. We strongly believe these people are our sisters and brothers. So we have to think about them as well.
“We want to invest in the future. The world we’re leaving behind is full of challenges and inequality. But we also know that this gift will make a real difference to someone’s life.
“Just because you’re leaving a legacy doesn’t mean you’re rich. We have a nice life, but we won’t be leaving huge amounts of money.
“If I’m honest, we imagine a granny somewhere smiling, holding a chicken. That’s what we’d like this gift to do!”

Leave a gift in memory of a loved one. Making a gift in their memory can be a powerful way to remember and honour them.
