First Minister’s Christmas card to help world’s poorest people

6 December 2017

Christmas card unveiling

We were absolutely delighted to be chosen as one of four charities to benefit from the sale of a painting by renowned artist John Byrne unveiled as the First Minister’s 2017 Christmas card.

We’ll use the money raised from the auction of his original artwork, called ‘Say It With A Kiss’, to help the world’s poorest people work their way out of poverty and overcome natural disasters.

It was John, a SCIAF supporter best known as a playwright for his trilogy The Slab Boys, who picked our charity as one of the beneficiaries of next year’s auction of his painting, which features a couple about to share a kiss under the mistletoe.

We can’t thank John and the Scottish Government enough for their continued support.

The Scottish Government has been, and continues to be, a fantastic partner in our work. In addition to funding for programmes, we welcome its continued commitment to climate justice.
