Centre Olame Bukavu is part of the Archdiocese of Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), a branch of Caritas, working for the integral promotion of women, young girls and their households. They are working to improve the socioeconomic condition of women and girls and their households and are fighting against gender-based violence.

SCIAF has partnered with this women-led organisation since 2019, focusing on supporting survivors of SGBV. Currently, they are one of four partners working to deliver our UK Aid Match project, supporting survivors and their families to access medical care, psychological and legal support, and financial services.

Working with SCIAF is so special because we all share a passion for developing the ‘whole person’, as well as the communities in which they live – we don’t just provide short-term relief in one area of their lives.
